During the month, I contacted our local MLB team after attending a promo shirt giveaway night where every shirt came in its own, individual poly bag; which meant that 20,000 poly bags were involved in this promo night. Their Senior VP contacted me yesterday in response to let me know they will work with their printers in the future to ensure that never happens again. Biggest win of the month for me, by far!

      Congratulations!  That's incredible news.

For those of you who want to make the case that local restaurants/bars go straw-free, see this link for a resource:
    http://oceanic.global/oceanic-standard/

You can download the Oceanic Standard Toolkit on this page; Part 3 may be a useful guide that you can share with those restaurants who may be considering the change.

When I stopped for lunch today, I decided to eat there, so that it would be "real" bowls and silverware, rather than plastic. I was so disappointed when I discovered that requesting salad dressing "on the side" meant they'd serve it in little plastic cups. not a real one. Sigh. But I did bring the cups back to work with me so I could rinse and recycle them...

Hey Milwaukee County Zoo team, if you're planning to go to Summerfest: they don't let you carry in your own cup, but you CAN save your cup from your first beverage purchase and refill it at each stand, instead of getting new ones. At the end of the night, seek out their recycling bins. Beer cups are recyclable. :)
(Non-Milwaukeeans who have no idea what I'm talking about: once in your life you should come to Milwaukee the first week of July and come to Summerfest.)

This is actually more of a website question, but I'm posting it on the feed in case others have the same question...
Anyone know if there's a way to post to the Feed so that it ONLY goes to my teammates, not the entire challenge?
    Thanks, K

Hi Kari - There is not a way to do this.  But as team captain you can very easily send an email to your team!

Milwaukee County Zoo Team: welcome to the challenge! As you go through your Actions, definitely take a look at the resources listed for each one. They'll help you get a sense of alternative products and changes you can make.
If you've not already done so, consider taking the pre-survey (you can get to it from your Dashboard). Doing so will earn you 100 points.
There will be a delay before your points are added; with well over 1,000 participants in the Plastic Free July challenge, it's taking a bit to get everyone's points applied, but they'll get added to your total eventually! :)
