I’ve been really surprised at the negative feedback that I have gotten from some folks. I have been sharing a fundraiser and trying to promote plastic awareness and I’ve even been made fun of.  I have been able to get some of my family to start reducing their footprint, but it astounds me that some think of this as a joke.

That's crazy and sad. Keep at it tho!

Currently, I have raised $136 for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, as my fundraiser.

Recycle paper: Newspaper. Office paper. Cardboard. Magazines and inserts. Junk mail. Phone books.

      Yes!

I just read a news post about garbage collectors in Turkey who started a library with trashed books. Once news spread,  people started donating books directly to the new library.

Old sheets, towels and clothing can be donated to charity to be sold in thrift stores, or to an animal shelter as bedding and cleaning materials.

Or recycled at big chain  stores  like H&M

  • Rebecca Ries 7/31/2018 1:27 PM
Look for the recycled option in all of the products you buy.

Recycle your ink and toner cartridges. Check and see if a local school PTO or church is collecting for fundraising.

Take a look at the EcoChallenge.org website, the collective impact is mind blowing!   I also plan on joining them in their 2018 Fall EcoChallenge through out the world.  We just have to keep this going!

Half the world’s forests have already been cleared or burned, and 80% of what’s left has been seriously degraded.

Paper cups consume trees, water, and chemicals, and dump them into streams and landfills – they are not re-cyclable. Every year nearly 900 million trees are cut down to provide raw materials for American paper and pulp mills.
