I have been having a good time emailing these companies that I buy things from or that I wont and letting them know why I wont buy their product .That are using single use plastic and offer them ideas then hearing back from them in my email  its like getting a surprise  I can't wait to hear from them and what they have to say. I was told that when hear from so many customer that don't like it that is when they make changes. So Strength In Numbers !!! We should be all be writing to the same company and we can as a Plastics Free Group Make Change!!

I always try and save the glass dressing containers so today I decided to try making a blue cheese dressing I wouldn't say it tastes as good as the bottled but no oils, acids, or  sugars in mine other than any natural sugars or fats in cheese and 1/2 and 1/2 creamer (out of a box) :-) I will make again for sure...

I wasn't feeling well today so i stopped at a Thai place for soup and brought my own container gave it to her explained I wanted my soup put in it and that I had my own bag. but before bringing it back to me she wraped my container in plastic.. It is so hard to get people to not use that extra plastic.  I just have to say I tried....

I decided to try this laundry soap in a box with the thought that i was buying a zero waste item. Then I opened and the soap was in a bag. Wrong so wrong. I bought color safe beach in a box no bag just pour in washer. So my other challenge is to write officials and companies I wrote them a email I got a reply today and they said that is the way we have to do it and you can recycle the bag. I get that answer a lot. many recycle companies can't do bags like that and those that do most bags don't make it into the recycle bin or recycled correctly.  So frustrating !!

I went into the Frig. today and used up so many things on meals for today and cooked up some chili for a pot luck tomorrow all with zero waste of food or packaging. I will use extra chili for dinners in future.  SO those will be zero waste meals too. That feels good. I then had to go to store later and pick a couple things up. I Had to be very creative to not get plastic and even didn't buy a few thing to avoid it...

I will be watching several documentary's this month but tonight I watched "Wasted" mostly and about food waste but did cover some other forms of waste. Very inspiring and gives some ideas on what I can do to change and think about even today. We really can go more to  not  waste food every time we shop,  cook, and eat food.
